Permission is needed to place temporary traffic lights on the road. It is the responsibility of the Utility/company to apply for permission.
To apply, complete a temporary traffic light application form. There is no cost associated with this type of permission.
Please allow at least 2 working days for permission to be granted.
If temporary lights are required urgently as a result of emergency works, email your completed application form to firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
For planned works:
- 7 working days' notice is required for minor works
- 28 days' notice is required for major works (lasting over 10 working days)

There are many reasons why we may not be able to give permission. This means this process does not fall under the 'tacit consent' parameters. Please do not assume permission will be given until you have heard from us. If you have not heard from us within 5 working days, contact the Streetworks team to check the status of your application.
