Human Resources for schools

Our human resource (HR) service for schools provides specialist advice and support to head teachers, governors and staff, on a range of human resource issues relating to teaching and support staff.

Our team offers a professional service and practical support including contact by telephone and email, visits to schools, and attendance at meetings (including governing body meetings) as required.

Some elements of our service are available for schools to buy, others are 'statutory services' that cannot be delegated.


HR Business Centre

Our HR Business Centre provides a comprehensive HR service to council employees, including schools. We also administer payrolls for a number of external organisations.

Business Partner Team

Your school's named HR Advisor (from the HR Business Partner Team) is your point of contact for 'HR advisory matters'. Depending on the issue, they'll deal with a matter themselves or pass it to an appropriately experienced and qualified member of staff from the Employee Relations Team.

Your HR Advisor takes overall ownership of the advisory service provided to your school; they ensure staff working with you, are effective in supporting any issues at your school.
