If you have been refused a school place for your child, you can appeal for a school place.
Before deciding to appeal you may prefer to speak to us to discuss your options, including your right of appeal, the type of appeal, and when appeals are held. We can send you appeal forms appropriate to the school and year group you are appealing for.
You have the right to ten days notice before an appeal is held, and will have the opportunity to attend the appeal hearing should you wish to. You will also receive paperwork relevant to your child's case before your appeal hearing.
Appeals for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Children with a 'My Support Plan' and those on the SEN register may appeal using the procedure as above.
However, there is a different appeals process for pupils with an 'Education, Health and Care Plan' or a 'Statement of Special Educational Need' (previously called 'School Action' or 'School Action Plus') - contact SEN Services for details.
