The Vision Support Team provides specialist support for children with reduced vision whose sight cannot be corrected solely by the wearing of glasses.

We offer support to children, their families and schools by liaising closely with colleagues in schools and other agencies. Our aim is to enable children to take part as fully as possible in the life of their school.

Our work is done in liaison with parents because they have so much information to share about their child, including what the child can or cannot do. Problems are often solved by asking parents what happens at home.

Our work is very varied: some children only require one or two visits while others need extensive cross-agency working.
