Community Short Breaks Carers support disabled children and young people with a range of disabilities within their local community, to involve them in leisure and social activities.

They:

  • look after children within the child’s own home
  • support children alongside their families
  • take children out into the community
  • offer support when families and children most need it (evenings, weekends, school holidays)

If you have previous experience of working with disabled children and young people, working as a Community Short Breaks Carer provides an opportunity to further develop your skills.

We're also interested in hearing from you if you've never worked as a carer before, but would like to gain experience in supporting disabled children and young people.
