Admissions policy

  • Children under the age of 8 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times in the pool. (See below for the allowed adult to child ratios)
  • Babies are discouraged from swimming under 6 months. Babies should wear a recognised swim nappy at all times. Always allow at least 1 hour after eating before bathing
  • The recommended ratio for children under the age of 4 years is: 1 responsible adult to 1 child
  • The maximum allowed ratio for children up to the age of 8 years, who are non or weak swimmers is: 1 responsible adult to 2 children
  • Children over the age of 8 years and under 16 years of age who are weak or non swimmers must be accompanied in the pool by a responsible adult
  • Responsible adults caring for non or weak swimmers under 16 years of age should be in close contact with their children at all times
  • Weak or non swimmers who are 16 years and over will be allowed into the pool unaccompanied but restricted to shallow water only
  • A responsible person may only bring children of the opposite gender into the changing rooms, shower or toilet areas under the age of 8 years
  • It is recommended all non or weak swimmers wear appropriate swimming aids to approved standards
  • Weak or non swimmers are restricted to shallow water only
  • Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry into the pool
  • Carers supporting a disabled person will not be charged to enter the pool
  • Swim nappies are available to purchase from the reception
  • Approved swimming aids are available to purchase from the reception
