The Guildhall was built in the 15th century and is situated on the River Ouse behind The Mansion House.

Full Council meetings are held in the council chambers within the Guildhall and the Guildhall is also used for events.

The Guildhall is also the venue for the Freemen of the City Of York's Annual Freedom Court.

However the remainder of the space is largely empty and in need of repair and refurbishment. See details of our current plans for major developments at The Guildhall.
