Waste and recycling

Changes to how we collect recycling

Later collection times during lockdown

Waste collections may be carried out later in the day, while our Waste Services Teams are working in a flexible way to continue delivering critical services at this time of National Lockdown.

We appreciate your patience as some delays are to be expected.

For the safety of our staff and customers, and to help minimise the spread of coronavirus, we've adapted how we're undertaking recycling collections.

Our collection crews are working in smaller teams, and will be splitting collections between vehicles:

  • one for paper and cardboard
  • one for plastics, tins and glass

Because of this, you may experience 2 collections several hours apart. We may also mix plastic, tins and glass.

As a result, we'll be accepting boxes containing mixed plastic, tins and glass, but paper and cardboard must be kept separate from other materials.

Please leave your recycling out as normal by 7.00am for collection.

Watch 'Recycling collections during the coronavirus pandemic'.

If St Nicks collects your recycling, see details of current recycling services on the St Nicks website.
