Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment

The Health and Wellbeing Board's Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA), 2018 to 2021 will be used to decide on new pharmacy applications over the next 3 years.

Supplementary statement on the one year extension of the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment for York

In light of the resource demands linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, the York Health and Wellbeing Board has made the decision to postpone publishing the next York Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment by 12 months. The next York PNA will be published in March 2022. This decision is supported by the Department for Health and Social Care.

In practical terms, the life of the current PNA is extended by 12 months. During this time, the York Health and Wellbeing Board will continue to follow the usual protocol for issuing other supplementary statements in the case of closures, consolidation, or other significant changes to local pharmaceutical services.
