The UK ended its EU membership on 31 January 2020 and is now in a transition period scheduled to end in December 2020.
During this period, the current rules on trade, travel and business for the UK and EU will continue to apply. After the transition, new arrangements will exist between the UK and the EU.
We'll continue to work with partners to ensure that York is prepared for the changes that may arise from the UK’s departure from the EU.

EU citizens are our friends, neighbours, family and colleagues who make an enormous contribution to the cultural and economic life of our city and we want you to stay.
All EU citizens can apply to the settlement scheme to continue living in the UK and we have put in place support to help you apply.
