As part of our commitment to ensuring our council homes meet modern standards, we repair and paint all external woodwork every 8 years (subject to funding). This includes repairing and repainting windows, doors, gates and fencing.
If you have UPVC windows we will check that these are operating properly.

External painting customer contract
We promise to:
- find out what you think needs repairing before we paint
- paint the outside of your home to a high standard
- use only reputable contractors and skilled staff
- minimise disruption
- complete work quickly
- always let you know what's going on
- put problems right quickly
External painting programme
We will send you a letter with a copy of the external painting customer contract when the work is due. The letter will let you know when we plan to begin working in your area and when we will finish; your home will be painted during those dates.
As we use external contractors, the letter will also let you know the details of the company that has been appointed to carry out the work.
The contractor will get in touch to arrange to survey your home, look at any repairs needed and give you a colour card so that you can choose the colour for your front door and other external paintwork.
Once work starts it should be completed within 2 weeks. Please note bad weather may delay work at any time but we will keep you informed of any changes in schedule.
