A19 Shipton Road Improvements

To help minimise disruption, work will be carried out in phases, expecting to take 8 weeks, with a futher 2 weeks of overnight resufacing.

Week 1: Temporary three way traffic lights will be used to keep access to Fairfields Drive while still aiming to minimise queues on the A19.

Weeks 2 to 8: Narrow lanes will allow constant traffic flow while the works continue. Fairfields Drive will remain open but temporary traffic signals may be used during some stages of the improvements process.

Weeks 9 and 10: Overnight resurfacing will be done by reducing the A19 down to one lane, allowing traffic to continue while closing Fairfields Drive.

Work will be carried out between 9.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday. In weeks 9 and 10 the night works will be carried our between 8.00pm and 6.00am Monday to Friday.

For safety, the speed limit will be reduced to 30mph temporarily for the duration of the works.

Use the iTravel Journey Planner to plan ahead, and allow more time for journeys during this time; you may also consider using public transport wherever possible.
