Youth Support Services (YSS) helps schools and clubs to run the Duke of Edinburgh (DoE) Award programme across York.
The DoE award is open to all young people between 14 and 24 years old, and offers them the opportunity to:
- help people or the community
- get fitter
- develop skills
- take part in an expedition
The award is available at 3 levels - bronze, silver and gold.
To achieve an award young people need to complete activities from volunteering, physical, skills, and expedition.
YSS also runs open award groups that anyone in the city can join, and an inclusion group for disabled young people.
The levels and types of awards offered can change in different years so please contact YSS for up to date information.
Contact YSS to find out which schools and clubs offer the award or contact the school or club directly to get contact details within their organisation.
Further information about DoE is available on the Duke of Edinburgh's Award website.
