Better Homes York energy efficiency scheme

Better Homes York is a council-endorsed energy efficiency scheme set up to help homeowners, private tenants and private landlords across the city. The aim of the scheme is to create warmer, healthier homes and to reduce the cost of fuel bills.

You can find out how energy efficient your home is by checking its Energy Performance Certificate.

Find out if you qualify for financial assistance

If you're a disabled person or have a long term health condition and live in a home which you own and your heating boiler is beyond economical repair, you may be able to get financial assistance to help to replace it. Our Discretionary Adaptation Grant works with Better Homes Yorkshire to provide quality assured boiler replacements which meet all of the current Regulations and requirements.

If you do not have a disability but are in receipt of means tested benefits there may be other forms of assistance available.
