From 6 April 2010, the minimum age at which you can claim travel concessions will increase in line with changes to the age of eligibility for state pension benefits.
As the pensionable age for women increase from 60 to 65 over the next 10 years, so too will the age of eligibility for travel concessions for both men and women.
Anyone born after 5 April 1955 will not be eligible for travel concessions until they reach the age of 65.
To find out when you will be eligible for travel concessions, please refer to the pdf document on the right hand side of this page.
You can also use the Direct Gov pension age calculator, but you must enter your gender as 'female' to obtain the correct age of eligibility for travel concessions.
These changes will only affect those due to turn 60 on or after 6 April 2010.
People with qualifying disabilities will still be able to claim travel concessions regardless of their age.
