Concessionary travel

The following travel concessions are available to qualifying York residents:

Young people (under 16's)

Older people (over 60's)

Everyone aged 60 or over who lives within the City of York area has a choice of one of the following concessions:

People aged 60 or over can also apply for a senior railcard allowing reduced fare rail travel.

People under 60 with certain disabilities

Everyone under 60 with a qualifying disability who lives within the City of York area has a choice of one of the following concessions:

  • A national bus pass that entitles you to FREE travel on local bus services throughout England
  • £100 of national transport tokens that can be purchased for £25 and used locally on buses, trains, taxis and community transport services
