The following travel concessions are available to qualifying York residents:
Young people
- A YOzone card which entitles secondary school age children to travel by bus at reduced fares
- A 16-25 railcard allowing reduced fare rail travel
Older people
- Anyone of qualifying age who lives within the City of York is entitled to a national bus pass for older people that entitles you to FREE travel on local bus services throughout England
- Older people who also have a qualifying disability may alternatively choose to claim a Taxicard which provides up to £55 per year free travel allowance with selected taxi companies.
People aged 60 or over can also apply for a discounted senior railcard allowing reduced fare rail travel.
