An inspector was appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to determine the outcome of the order to extinguish the public right of way known as York Footpath (Clifton) No.15.

A public local inquiry into the order began on Tuesday 17 January 2006. It was adjourned on Friday 20 January to Tuesday 11 April 2006 and finished on Thursday 13 April, after everyone gave their evidence.

The Inspector made the decision to confirm the order.
