A year-long campaign has been launched by City of York Council's Road Safety Team, working in in partnership with North Yorkshire Police, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service and Cycling City York.
The campaign will highlight over the year, via simple scenarios, some of the most common types of accidents that happen in York, and how to avoid becoming an accident statistic.
The campaign is being kicked off, with three of the most common types of accidents that happen to pedestrians and cyclists. As well as running in the local press, these three scenarios will be shown in cinema screens at Vue Clifton Moor for 12 months.
The 3 most common accident scenarios for pedestrians and cyclists have also been made into a booklet, which is being delivered to every household in York during summer 2010. A copy in pdf format can be downloaded from this page.
