Property permits

To be eligible for a Property Permit you must either:

  • Be the owner of an unoccupied residential property that is situated within a residents parking zone and be engaged in building and/or renovation work at the time when the vehicle is parked.

    OR
  • Be engaged in building and/or renovation work at premises situated within a residents parking zone and be undertaking the work at the time when the vehicle is parked.

The permit is only valid for one specified resident zone and only one property permit can be issued for a property.  The permit is valid for a maximum of 3 months, and cannot be renewed after the 3 month period has expired.

Apply for a permit

To obtain a Property Permit you must supply evidence of interest in a property that is situated in a resident parking zone.  Download and complete the property permit application form. Return the form, with evidence of eligibility and the correct payment, to Parking Services.

Cost

Property parking permits cost £93.00 per quarter (3 months) or £2.30 for a daily property permit which are more commonly known as a 'Builders Permit'.

You may also be eligible for a discount if you have a short vehicle of less than 2.7m in length or one that is a low emission vehicle within emissions up to 120g/Km2 or is Electric or LPG powered.  If you are unsure of the emission level of your vehicle please visit, www.taxdisc.directgov.uk/EvlPortalApp/ (pick 'Vehicle Enquiry' from the boxes on the left hand side and then enter your vehicle registration number and vehicle make).
