Landlords and management agents permits

To be eligible for a Landlord Permit you must be the landlord of vacant or tenanted residential premises which are located wholly within a resident parking zone.

The permit allows you to park for up to 60 minutes longer in a residents parking zone than the parking restrictions normally allow.  For example, if non-permit holders are allowed to park for 10 minutes, you would be allowed to park for 70 minutes.  Similarly, if non-permit holders are allowed to park for 60 minutes you would be able to park for 120 minutes.

The permit is only valid in the resident parking zone for which it is issued, so if you have properties in other zones, you would need to apply for a permit for each zone separately.

Apply for a permit

To qualify for a landlord permit you must supply a photocopy of one of the following documents to show that you have an interest in the property:

  • management contract
  • tenancy agreement
  • solicitor's letter to confirm interest in the property
  • deeds for the property

Application form

Download and complete the landlords permit application form. Return the form, with your evidence of eligibility and the correct payment, to Parking Services.

Cost

The initial cost of your permit depends on when you want to buy your permit and in which zone you live. You may also be eligible for a discount if you have a short vehicle of less than 2.7m in length or one that is a low emission vehicle with emissions up to 120g/km2 or is Electric or LPG powered. If you are unsure of the emission level of your vehicle, go to DVLA vehicle online services and select 'Vehicle Enquiry', then enter your vehicle registration number and vehicle make.
