Guest houses and small hotels within respark zones can apply for a guest house authorisation card to enable them to buy visitor permits for paying guests to use when parking their vehicles in respark areas.

To qualify you must

• have no more than 10 rooms to let (the exception is zone 23 where the maximum number of rooms to let is 13)
• be registered in the current edition of the Yorkshire and Humberside Tourist Board brochure or at the City of York Tourist Information Centre
• show proof of the full planning consent for the property as a guest house and a valid fire certificate.

The guest house visitor permits let paying guests park in community (blue) or red bays in the same zone as the property.

You may also use the guest house authorisation card (which is issued with the permit) to buy guest house visitor permits.

Download and complete the guest house/small hotel application form.  Return the form, with proof of identity and the correct payment, to Parking Services.

Cost

The initial cost of your guest house authorisation card depends when you want to buy your authorisation card and in which zone you live, but, as a general guide, the price is as follows:

• full charge = £325.00
• three quarters = £243.75
• two quarters  = £162.50
• one quarter =  £81.25
