Businesses in most respark zones can apply for a permit but permits are not permitted in zones R02, R11, R14, R155C, R17, R19SC, R22, R37, R38, R42 and R45 due to a lack of parking spaces in these zones.

To qualify you must

• pay business rates directly to the council for a business within a respark zone
• have no off street parking at the property (this includes space that is being used for purposes other than parking)
• not be living at the business (if you do live at the premises, you may be entitled to a household permit)

The permit can be used by any member of staff or visitor who has to use their vehicle for the business. Only one permit can be issued per property, and no visitor permits are allowed.

Download and complete the business permit application. Return the form, with your evidence of eligibility and the correct payment, to Parking Services, 9 St Leonards Place, York, YO1 7ET, or call in at our reception.  We are open Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pm and on Saturday's from 9.00am - 12.00pm and 1.00pm - 4.00pm.

Cost

The initial cost of your permit depends when you want to buy your permit and in which zone you live. You may also be eligible for a discount, if you have a short vehicle of less than 2.7m in length or one that is a low emission vehicle with emissions up to 120g/Km or is Electric or LPG powered.  If you are unsure of the emission level of your vehicle, please visit www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/ (pick 'Vehicle Enquiry' from the boxes on the left hand side and then enter your vehicle registration number and vehicle make).

Short or Low Emission Permit = £157.50 per year or £39.40 per quarter.
