Evening frequent users pass

You can buy a frequent user parking pass that lets you park in off street car parks (except for Castle Mills, Foss Bank and Piccadilly which close in the evening) and at most on street pay & display areas from 5pm to 8.30am Mondays to Saturdays and until 12.30pm on Sundays.

Some on-street pay and display bays also have waiting restrictions (yellow lines) that are enforceable from 8am until 6pm. Please note that your permit entitles you to park at these locations from 6pm until 8am.  The signs displayed at each location will let you know when you can park there. 

The pass can be used in the following locations:

Apply for a pass

Download and complete the appropriate form (resident, non-resident or charity).  Return the form together with your evidence (if required) and payment to Parking Services.

Make cheques and postal orders payable to 'City of York Council'.

Residents

If you live in York a pass will cost you £84 per year.  Passes are also available for a quarter of a year and cost £21.

Charities

Charities can have up to five permits free of charge. The business premises must be within the inner ring road.

Discounts

You may be eligible for a discount if your car is shorter than 2.7m in length or one that is a low emission vehicle with emissions up to 120g/km or is Electric or LPG powered.  If you are unsure of the emission level of your vehicle. If you are unsure of the emission level of your vehicle, go to DVLA vehicle online services and select 'Vehicle Enquiry', then enter your vehicle registration number and vehicle make.

The price of the discount passes are:

  • Resident £42 per year or £10.50 per quarter.
  • Non-Resident £60 per year or £15 per quarter.

To apply for a short car or low emission parking discount complete the application form and ensure you include a copy of your vehicle registration document.

If you are 60 or over, or disabled, you can use your travel concessions voucher to reduce the cost of your evening frequent users pass.
