Parking permits and discounts

In this section:

• York residents parking discount badges
  Discount badges are available to residents of the City of York who wish to park at a reduced rate in the council's car parks. You must display the badge in your windscreen when parked.
• Evening frequent users pass
  You can buy a frequent user parking pass that lets you park in off street car parks and at most street meters
• Low emission vehicle parking discounts
  If you have a low emission vehicle you can get a discount of at least 50% on some of our parking charges
• Resident contract parking
  If you live within the central area of York, i.e. within the City walls, you can buy a resident contract parking permit from the council. This will allow you to park your vehicle in certain car parks
• Season ticket parking
  A season ticket allows you unlimited parking in any of the council's standard stay car parks
• Short car parking discounts
  If you have a car that is less than 2.7m long you can get a discount of at least 50% on some of our parking charges
• Residents' priority parking scheme
  Respark parking permits for households, disabled drivers, businesses, guest houses and other types of users
