Tour de Yorkshire

After the breathtaking 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart in York and Yorkshire City of York Council is proud to be supporting the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire in 2015.

York will host the finish to stage two of the new UCI approved 2.1 Europe Tour race on Saturday 2 May. The stage will see riders cover 174km from Selby to York including two and a half laps of a 20km finishing circuit.

The race is expected to enter the city at approximately 2.30pm. The riders will approach York on the A166 (Stamford Bridge/ Gate Helmsley) and join the circuit route at Holtby Lane just outside of Murton. It is expected that the race will finish between 3.45pm and 4pm.

A women’s race will also be held using the same 20km circuit taking in the stunning city centre. British Cycling licensed riders from Elite, first, second and third categories will be able to enter. The  race has already attracted multiple gold medal winning Paralympian Dame Sarah Storey.
