A19 maintenance and improvement works

City of York Council will carry out major maintenance work at the A19 between the A64 interchange and the council boundary near Escrick village. The work involves the installation of a new highway drainage system followed by reconstruction and resurfacing of the carriageway. At the same time, road safety improvements will be carried out at Deighton village, involving localised widening of the A19 carriageway to provide a pedestrian refuge island and a right turn lane at the Main Street junction.
