…you can join in the fun and games at City of York Council's SureStart Children's Centre Celebration Event.

The nine centres from across the city are inviting families to come along for free fun activities as well as the opportunity to meet children's centres staff and ask questions. Each centre aims to give York's families the best possible start in life and the event will provide an opportunity to register at their local centre.

To coincide with National Storytelling Week, the event at St Sampson's Square will be on Thursday 3 February from 10.30am - 2.30pm. Keep a lookout for three bears who will be roaming around a story teller, movement play sessions and the council's toy bus which families are invited to jump aboard.

Paula Richardson, City of York Council's Locality Manager said: "This is a great opportunity for families to come and find out about what we offer them across the city. The celebration event is a chance to meet our friendly staff, join in the fun activities going on in the square and find out about other partner organsations who work with the children's centres including Jobcentre Plus and health visitors."
