Road closures and bus service changes for Tour of Britain

City of York Council will be closing the following roads on Saturday 12 September , for the Tour of Britain cycle race:

Malton Road from Stockton Lane roundabout to Muncastergate; Straylands Grove from Malton Road to Elmfield Terrace . Both will be closed between the hours of 5am and 7pm,  except for access to the car park from Stockton Lane and Woodlands Grove in to Straylands Grove.

Other than the car park access, there will be no access or entrance for vehicles during these times, except in emergencies.

The diversion route is Jockey Lane, New Lane, Huntington Road to Monkgate.

There will also be a rolling closure, operated by the police, through Stockton on the Forest affecting the following roads: Common Lane, Sandy Lane, The Village and Stockton Lane through to Hopgrove Lane South and finally on to Malton Road, via Hopgrove, between the hours of 1.45pm and 3pm.

The Monks Cross Park and Ride service will be diverted, and will run between the city centre and the Park and Ride site only. It will not stop at Monks Cross shopping park. However, there will be a connecting bus link from the Park and Ride site and the shopping park at regular intervals. The number 13A First bus service will not be running during the day and the number 13 First bus service and the Coastliner will also be affected during the rolling closures.
