Bumpercise classes for mums and mums to be

Posted on Thursday 1 October 2009

Oaklands Sports Centre has just launched a new Bumpercise class for new mums and mums-to-be.

The new aerobics and toning class for expectant and new mums with babies up to six months will help mothers maintain their health during pregnancy and return to exercise safely afterwards. The class will be held every Tuesday at 10am.

Bumpercise will complement Oaklands' existing classes for new mums: Buggytone and Mummy and Buggy, which also take place weekly. All classes will provide new mums with the opportunity to get healthy and meet new people and are delivered by fully qualified instructors. New mums are welcome to attend once they've had their six week check up and they're welcome to bring their babies along too.

Paul Bickle, manager of Oaklands, said: "Having a baby shouldn't stop you from keeping fit. It is really important that women think about their health during and after having a baby and these classes are a convenient way of doing just that.  Most importantly of all it is an opportunity for new and pregnant mums to have some fun whilst keeping fit."
