A major slipway into the River Ouse could undergo substantial repairs if proposals are agreed next week.
Repair work is needed at Lendal Boatyard following a sudden collapse of an underwater section of the slipway. The area of land is leased form the council by Yorkboat and the slipway is vital to enable them to repair and maintain their boats. The council is contractually obliged to repair the slipway under the terms of the lease agreement.
The Leader of the council will be asked to agree to plans to fund the repairs to the slipway, which are expected to cost in the region of £160,000, at an Executive Leader Decision Session on 6 November. Yorkboat have agreed to make a contribution to the cost of the work.
