Bank holiday rubbish and recycling collections

Posted on Monday 27 April 2009

City of York Council’s waste and recycling team will carry out collections as usual over the forthcoming May bank holidays.

There will be no changes to collections of rubbish and recycling on either Monday 4 or Monday 25 May. Collections will be carried out as usual during those weeks and residents are reminded to present their bin or recycling by 7am on the day of collection.

The city's three Household Waste and Recycling Centres at Hazel Court, Beckfield Lane and Towthorpe will also be open as usual on the Bank Holidays. Residents who want to take waste to the sites by van, hire van or trailer are reminded to apply in advance for free permits allowing them to use the sites.

For more information about waste and recycling, or to apply for a permit for one of the Household Waste Recycling Centres, please contact the council on 01904 551551 or visit www.york.gov.uk
