Myth, magic, ghosts and folklore with York Central Library

Posted on Friday 28 November 2008

York residents are being invited to enter a fairytale world of myth, magic, ghosts and folklore next month as part of City of York Council's Libraries' Telling Tales series.

The popular initiative brings internationally acclaimed storytellers to York as well as showcasing storytellers from closed to home. The Christmas event is a storywalk with York based storyteller Helen Sant - better known as Gothic Molly - on Saturday 13 December.

The storywalk will start and end at York Central Library and will last approximately one hour.  It will link to York's popular Festival of Angels event and tales will include Jack Frost, Babooshka and the Snow Queen.

On their return to Central Library, walkers will be treated to a warming mug of hot chocolate and will be able to borrow the books that inspired the walk.

Anyone who would like to take part should go to the library for 11am. Tickets cost £4 or £2 for children.
