City of York Council is to carry out essential carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing of the section of the A1079 Hull Road between York Road and Elvington Lane.
The work will start on Monday 17 September and is programmed to last for approximately one week, subject to weather conditions.
The work will take place Monday to Friday between 7.00pm and 7.00am.
In order to carry out these works safely, a temporary 30mph speed limit will be imposed on the A1079 Hull Road on the approaches to the works area between the hours of 7.00pm and 7.00am, and vehicles travelling through the works area when construction is ongoing will be restricted to 10mph using convoy vehicles to control traffic in single file through the site.
Outside of the proposed working hours the road will remain open as usual with no restrictions imposed.
The contractor carrying out the work will be Tarmac Ltd.
Delays are anticipated and drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
