How big is your footprint?

Posted on Monday 10 September 2007

Find out more about climate change and what you can do to reduce your impact on it at the ‘Make a World of Difference’ event in St Sampson’s Square on 14 and 15 September.

Part of the BA Festival of Science, the event is being hosted by the council’s sustainability team who will be helping people find out whether it’s the way they travel or what they eat, throw away or buy which is having the biggest impact on the world around them, using a special computer programme. Help will be on hand from The Energy Efficiency Advice Centre, council waste and transport teams, York Rotters and others giving out free advice, light bulbs, cotton bags and much more.

The BA Festival of Science will be in York from 9-15 September, bringing together more than 350 of the UK’s top scientists and engineers to discuss the latest developments in science with the public.

For more information about the BA Festival of Science, including an online programme, visit www.the-ba.net/festivalofscience.

This year’s BA Festival of Science is organised by the BA (British Association for the Advancement of Science) in partnership with the University of York, Science City York and City of York Council. It is supported by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills, BP and Yorkshire Forward.
