Budding time travellers will be able to learn more about the physics behind teleportation next month when the BA festival of Science comes to York.
Working with leading scientist Professor Vlatko Vedral, theatrical presenter Jon Spooner will explain the actual, imagined, ethical, political, religious and philosophical impact of cutting edge research in Quantum Physics, at an event on Monday 10 September.
Organised by City of York Council as part of the science festival, the audience will be asked to consider how leading scientific research will change the world as we view it.
Peter Boardman, the council's BA festival co-ordinator, said: "Quantum Physics is generally seen as pretty inaccessible for most people, but programmes like Star Trek and Dr Who have brought teleportation to the fore. Jon's performance is warm and witty and really brings this complex area to life."
The BA Festival of Science will be in York from 9-15 September, bringing together more than 350 of the UK’s top scientists and engineers to discuss the latest developments in science with the public.
