Residents to be consulted on York Northwest

Posted on Friday 26 October 2007

From November 5, City of York Council will start consulting residents about the future of York Northwest, a large area of land that includes the York Central and British Sugar sites.

A leaflet will be distributed to around 4,000 homes in neighbouring areas, but will also be available from City of York Council libraries and reception areas. It gives an overview of the area, and explains that an Area Action Plan is being prepared as planning guidance for the future development of the area. It also asks residents to answer a series of questions about potential future uses for the area and send their responses back to the council at a freepost address.

A series of exhibitions is also planned and these will take place as follows:

- Parliament Street from 10am to 4pm on Friday 9 November.
- Church of the Holy Redeemer on Boroughbridge Road from 2pm to 6pm on Friday 23 November.
- St Paul's Church on Holgate Road from 2pm to 6pm on Wednesday 28 November.
- St Barnabas Church Hall on Salisbury Terrace from 2pm to 6pm on Wednesday 5 December.

Residents can obtain more information and take part in an online survey by visiting the council's website - www.york.gov.uk/consultation
