St Nicholas Fayre comes to York

The city will come alive with bustling stalls, carol singers and buskers from today with the start of York's popular St Nicholas Fayre Market (29 November - 2 December).

This well-known four day market offers a range of stalls specialising in gifts, crafts, and the very best in local farm produce.

The markets in Parliament Street, St Sampson's Square, Coppergate and the Guildhall offer a range of open air stalls with the best from local craftspeople and artists, giving shoppers the chance to a variety of products.

DeliciouslyYorkshire are on hand offering fantastic home-grown produce, from luxury handmade fruit cakes and hams to country hedgerow wines and warming sloe gin, as well as ideas for foodie gifts from hampers to preserve gift packs.

Markets will include:
- Hand painted glass gifts
- Hand made jewellery
- Pottery and crafts
- Russian dolls and other collectables
- Prints and photography
- Wooden crafted models and gifts
- Farm raised venison, ostrich & wild boar
- Traditionally hand made cheeses & dairy products
- Punch, Beer, Wine, & Mulled Wine
- Pies & pastries

Carol singers, brandy-laced hot chocolate and roast chestnuts will all be available to get everyone in the festive spirit.

There will also be a Medieval Market at Barley Hall and a Craft Fayre at St William's College.
