Free party launches new estate agreement
Posted on Thursday 15 November 2007
All residents of Bell Farm in York are invited to a free Christmas party to
launch the area's new estate agreement.
The party, organised by City of York Council's Neighbourhood Management Unit in
conjunction with Bell Farm Residents' Association, is on Thursday 13 December
at the social hall on Roche Avenue, from 3.30-6pm.
There will be food, refreshments, face painting (provided by Bell Farm
Adventure Playground), nail painting, carol singing, entertainment, information
stalls from estate agreement service providers, free goods and lots of
Christmas activities for the family.
Everyone who comes along will be entered into a free prize draw to win the top
prize of a DVD player!
Bell Farm's estate agreement was the first to be launched in the country and is
the longest running. It was launched in 1995 and developed in partnership
with Bell Farm Residents' Association and City of York Council as a response to
residents’ wishes to protect improvements carried out in the Estate
Action Project.
The agreement encourages the residents of Bell Farm to work together with the
service providers to maintain a high level of service and a good environment
in
which to live.
Service providers who have signed up to the agreement include the council's
Neighbourhood Pride services, Trading Standards and Dog Warden service, Housing
and Adult Social Services, Care and Support for Children and Families,
Learning, Culture and Children's Services, Neighbourhood Management
supporting Bell Farm Social Hall and residents' association, Heworth ward
committee, York Youth Service, and York Youth Offending team.
Other providers include: Neighbourhood policing, Bell Farm Adventure
Playground,
and Future Prospects.
The new agreement was designed and developed in partnership with Bell
Farm
Residents' Association. A consultation was sent out to all residents of
the
estate asking what they thought should be included.
The event will be attended by Bell Farm residents, Bell Farm Residents'
Association, Heworth ward councillors who will be running the kitchen and
serving refreshments, as well as senior City of York Council officers.
