City of York Council will start resurfacing the full length of Highmoor Close in Dringhouses next Tuesday 29 May.
The work is expected to take one week to complete, assuming weather conditions are favourable, and involves removing some of the existing surface and then putting a new one down.
It forms part of the council's annual carriageway resurfacing programme and will be carried out between the hours of 9.15am and 4pm from Tuesday to Friday.
To ensure that the work can be carried out safely, Highmoor Close will be closed during these hours but will re-open to traffic at the end of each working day. The footways will remain open for the duration of the work.
As with any construction work, there is likely to be some disruption and inconvenience, although the council will do everything possible to keep this to a minimum. The contractor carrying out the work will be Tarmac National Contracting Ltd.
