Traffic signals at the junction of York Road with the A1079 in Dunnington will become operational on Monday 14 May, making the junction safer.
The scheme involved erecting traffic signals on three arms of the road junction, along with new islands and kerbing works to widen the carriageway, making the junction more efficient and safe.
A 40mph speed limit has been introduced on this section of the A1079 and new street lighting has been installed where the speed limit is lowered.
The right turn from the A1079 into York Road has been permanently banned as a result of the scheme.
