Roundabout landscaping on A1237

Posted on Thursday 10 May 2007

City of York Council will this week start landscaping roundabouts on the A1237 at Strensall and Clifton Moor.

These are the first major improvements to the roundabouts for many years and the work has been funded with sponsorship from two York businesses, Hogg the Builder and York Stone Importers.

Both businesses have been sponsors of the York in Bloom scheme for many years, demonstrating their commitment to improving the local environment. In turn, they have benefited from the publicity generated by signs on the roundabout bearing their company names.

It is hoped that the newly landscaped roundabouts will play a part in the city's bid for success in this year's Yorkshire in Bloom competition.

If you would like to sponsor a roundabout or other floral feature, please contact Russell Stone on York 553108 or email russell.stone@york.gov.uk
