York Live 2007 presents 'A Haunting at the Treasurer's House'

Posted on Tuesday 1 May 2007

A unique, interactive performance of some of York's most famous ghost stories promises to be one of the highlights of the action-packed programme for York Live 2007.

The performance will take place at the Treasurer's House on the evening of Saturday 26 May between 6pm and 8pm. Admission is free and those who wish to attend can drop-in at any time during the performance.

It will star Cube Media's Soundweavers, who are a group of learning disabled musicians and workshop leaders. The Soundweavers will use accessible technology to play sounds and music that creates an eerie soundtrack for the telling of ghostly tales. Audience members will be able to take part and interact with the performance by triggering additional sounds and images. The drop-in format of the performance means that audience members can come and go as they please.

Kirsty Halliday, organiser of York Live 2007, explained: "This is just one performance in a series of fun and varied events planned for York Live 2007 and promises to be a really entertaining evening. What better setting for an evening of ghost stories that the atmospheric Treasurer's House?"
