City of York Council is wanting to hear from disabled or Black and minority ethnic residents.
People will be able to give their views on council services at one of two conferences on Wednesday 6 June. A number of different council services will be asking for feedback on topics such as accessible housing, childcare needs, independent living and the priorities for the council and York as a whole. Delegates will also be able to get information on services such as benefits and working for the council.
Bill Hodson, the council's Director of Housing and Adult Social Services said: "City of York Council is always keen to get feedback from residents to help improve our services. We want to get things right for all citizens in York so we need to be sure that we are getting the views of all sections of our community. These conferences will help us understand the issues of two key local communities, disabled people and Black and minority ethnic people, so that we can ensure council services are meeting their specific needs. The results of this consultation will be used to shape council services in the future."
The conferences are being held in the main hall at the Priory Street Centre. The disability conference is from 9.30am until 12.30pm and the ethnicity conference is from 1pm - 4.30pm. Car parking is available for Blue Badge holders and the building has wheelchair access, accessible toilets and a hearing loop system.
