Following the elections held for all City of York Council wards on 3 May 2007, the results are as follows :
Liberal Democrats : 19 seats
Labour : 18 seats
Conservative : 8 seats
Green Party : 2 seats.
This result ends a four year period of Liberal Democrat control, and means that no party is in overall control.
The turnout was 41.8 per cent.
There are 22 wards for City of York Council.
The pre-election political makeup of the council was:
