York residents will be able to get a glimpse into the life of York's first resident this weekend.

York's historic Mansion House, home of the Lord Mayor of York, will be open to residents this Saturday (5 May) - free of charge - with tours starting at 11am and 2pm. Doors will open approximately 20 minutes before the first tour starts and each tour will be restricted to 15 visitors.

Guided tours run at 11am and 2pm every Friday and Saturday from March to the weekend before Christmas, taking around one hour, and the house is fully wheel chair accessible.

To qualify for free entry residents should bring proof of residence, such as a household bill.
