Recruitment website shortlisted for top award

Posted on Friday 16 March 2007

An innovative recruitment website created by North Yorkshire Together has been short listed for a top, national award.

The website, oneplacenorthyorks.com, is a contender in the Recruitment Innovation category at the Public Sector People Managers' Association awards. Representatives of the partnership will find out if they have scooped the national accolade at the PPMA's conference later this month.

The partnership is up against fierce competition from two other finalists, Waltham Forest Council and the London Borough of Redbridge Council.

Stephen Forrest, the council's human resources business development manager, said: "We are delighted to have been short-listed for this top award because it recognises the way that the North Yorkshire Together partners have worked together so successfully."

The website has received more than 1.2 million hits since it went live in April of last year.

The Public Sector People Managers' Association is the body that represents senior human resources professionals across the public sector.

North Yorkshire Together is a partnership between City of York Council, North Yorkshire County Council, the District Councils of Craven, Hambleton, Harrogate, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Scarborough and Selby, the South Tees NHS Trust and JobCentrePlus.
