City of York Council will start rebuilding the footway along Almsford Road on Monday 2 April.
The work will take around six weeks to complete and involves taking up flagstones, then re-laying them and creating vehicle crossing points with concrete.
It will be carried out by the council's Neighbourhood Services team between the hours of 8am and 4pm from Monday to Friday, although some weekend work may be required.
Access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
