Get involved in Dance York 2007

Posted on Monday 26 March 2007

City of York Council is urging schools and other organisations across the city to get involved in Dance York 2007, which promises to be York's biggest dance celebration ever!

This year's event will take place between 19 and 30 June and will be a city-wide extravaganza of dance in its many forms.

Participating schools, colleges and other organisations will have their dance events featured in the Dance York 2007 programme and promotional material.

The council's dance team is particularly keen to hear from groups interested in hip hop, break dance, morris dancing, capoeira, rapper dance, Irish dance, salsa, bollywood, jazz dance and African dance or drumming.

The council's dance consultant, Edward Lynch, said: "We want this year's event to be bigger and better than ever, and to include performers from across the city. We want to hear from schools, dance groups, colleges and any other organisations that want to get involved."
