City of York Council is advising residents who use its recycling banks at the B&Q store on Hull Road that they have been relocated to another part of the car park until August of this year.
This is to allow the firm's plans for a revamp of the site to go ahead, but B&Q has agreed that it will then find a new home for them on a permanent basis.
Geoff Derham, the council's head of waste and cleaning services, said: " We are delighted that B&Q has shown its commitment to recycling by maintaining the facility on its Hull Road site. We appreciate the firm's effort in finding a suitable area for the facilities whilst building work is underway."
