No changes to bank holiday rubbish and recycling collections

Posted on Thursday 22 March 2007

City of York Council is reminding residents that rubbish and recycling collections will be unaffected by the forthcoming spring and summer bank holidays.

The council's waste and recycling collection teams will carry out all collections on the regular days, even where they fall on bank holidays at Easter and in May and August. Information about collection dates has previously been distributed to all households in the city.

Terry Collins, the council's director of Neighbourhood Services, said: "Our crews will be working as normal throughout the bank holiday periods so there will be no disruption to refuse and recycling collections during the coming months."

Friends of St Nicholas Fields will also be operating their recycling collections as usual during the Easter holiday period.
